JoAnn is a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist who completed her Master's in Physical Therapy at Andrews University, Ohio. She completed her undergrad studies at Pacific Union College, California.
JoAnn has been based in New York City and specializing in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy for nearly 10 years. She has completed extensive advanced training in the Areas of Trigger Point Therapy, Graston Technique, Kinesio Taping and Mulligan Concepts. She is a Certified Graston Technique Practitioner.
Outside of the clinic, JoAnn is a competitive runner and triathlete. She has completed 4 Marathons and more than 10 Triathlons (Sprint, Olympic and ½ Ironman Events). She hopes to complete a full Ironman Triathlon in the near future.
Clinically, JoAnn has a special interest in working with cyclists, distance runners and swimmers and is often sought out for her professional and personal experience in these areas. That said, JoAnn enjoys working with a wide range of patients suffering from orthopedic conditions or sports injuries and always focuses on getting them back to the important activities in their life whether that involves running a marathon or running around after their grandchildren.
JoAnn is also fluent in Japanese and is well known in the New York Japanese community.
Shayna has been specializing in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy for the last six years. She graduated from Bay State College in 2000. A Boston native, Shayna is also a Certified Graston Technique Practitioner. Shayna has clinical interests in the conservative and post surgical care of shoulder injuries. She has taken numerous continuing education courses in areas of manual therapy, functional exercise, and performance enhancement. She also enjoys working with endurance athletes and weekend warriors.
Senen attended Fatima Medical Science Foundation, Inc. where he received a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 1997. In addition to specializing in orthopedic, neurological, and sports medicine, Nans has extensive training and experience in treating patients with work related injuries, industrial rehabilitation, work conditioning / hardening and performs Functional Baseline Evaluations for Work Conditioning and Pre-Return to Work Evaluations. He has organized and spearheaded medical and athletic trainer coverage for athletic events such as the Michael Jordan All-American Classic, Arthritis Foundation walk, and Coaches VS Cancer. Outside work, Nans enjoys wood work and crafting, gardening, listening to music and spending time with his wife and their three wonderful children.
Eli is a Registered Dietitian and a NYS Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from New York University. Eli completed her clinical training at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in affiliation with NYU.
Eli has experience in both the acute care and outpatient clinical setting working with a wide variety of patient populations with a concentration on patients with cardiovascular disease. She currently works at The Mount Sinai Hospital as a Senior Clinical Dietitian covering the Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU and stepdown units and has been there since 2008.
She is an active member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the Greater New York Dietetic Association (GNYDA), and the Dietitians in Nutrition Support Group of the ADA.
Eli is fluent in Japanese and is an avid yoga practitioner.
Born and raised in New York City, Shirley graduated from LaGuardia Community College with a degree in Deaf Studies. She interned at the Center for Independence of the Disabled NY (CIDNY), assisting with interpretations. She can sign conversational American Sign Language and speak fluent Cantonese.
Shirley is currently pursuing nursing. She enjoys helping others and makes it her goal to put a smile on someone's face.
In her "spare" time, she enjoys bowling. You can also find her outdoors, whether it is playing sports or walking around the city.
Karen has completed a degree in Liberal Arts and Science at Queensborough Community College. She enjoys working with children, and looks forward to continuing her education within the fields of Early Childhood Education or Occupational Therapy. One of her greatest passion is to help others. Karen speaks fluent Cantonese and conversational Mandarin.
In her free time, Karen enjoys spending time with her nephew, exploring new places and is forever on the search for delicious foods.
Jin received his Bachelor of Science in Health and Nutrition Science from CUNY Brooklyn College in 2013. Because of his interest in corrective exercises and body mechanics, he will be entering the Physical Therapist Assistant program at LaGuardia Community College this coming fall semester. He believes that although adequate nutrition may improve health, chronic or acute injuries are bound to exist throughout our lifetime and that's when physical therapy steps in to restore optimal physical and functional abilities.
While in college, he worked as a personal trainer for Equinox at Printing House in the West Village and now he is an independent trainer at TriBeCa Health and Fitness.
Jin's hobbies include bowling, snowboarding, rock climbing, lion dancing, gymnastics and of course cooking a delicious meal after all that working out.
Jean Qi is a New York City born native who currently attends Hunter College with an intended major of psychology. She enjoys helping others and being an active role in the recovery process. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring various styles of dance, running, and trying different foods. Jean can speak fluent English, Cantonese, and conversational Mandarin.
Ulin is a New York native, currently majoring in psychology with a minor in biology at Hunter College. She finds fulfillment in playing a part in the recovery process and hopes to go to physical therapy school in the future. She enjoys cooking, yoga and volleyball. In her spare time you can find her outdoors, whether it is attempting to play a sport or just roaming and walking around just about anywhere. Ulin can speak fluent English, Cantonese and conversational Mandarin.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from CUNY Medgar Evers and an Associate in Applied Sciences in Business Administration from CUNY Kingsborough Community College.
At work, he enjoys assisting people regain their functional independence. Having over 500 hours of volunteer service in various inpatient and outpatient settings such as SUNY Downstate medical and Freshpond PT, Eric is actively pursuing his goal of becoming a physical therapist.
In the community, Eric is the assistant activities coordinator with Body Sculpt of NY, a not for profit agency dedicated to fighting childhood obesity by educating through nutrition and introducing physical activities.
Outside of work and volunteering, Eric is an experience junkie. He travels, snowboards, bikes, rock climbs, takes Muay Thai at Five Points Academy & seeks tasty food in all forms, even waiting 4 hrs for Cronuts.
